Finnish American Club of Detroit

5492 Putnam Drive, West Bloomfield

The FACD was founded by Finnish American business folks back in the twenties when they met as families in their homes for Sauna and recreation. They purchased land on Walnut Lake and in 1940 erected the "sauna club" at 5492 Putnam Dr.  The FACD is a private organization, with many members being second or third generation members. They meet for sauna and enjoying the lake and members use the club for family picnics as they have for 80 plus years. The FACD also supports Finnish American activities in Michigan.
